A special moment of the evening was recognizing our very own Maribel Contreras. After relocating alone from Arizona while pregnant, Maribel transitioned from general labor into healthcare following a layoff. Through her partnership with SkillSource, she built computer literacy skills and earned her Home Care Aide license. With the help of a matched savings program, she was also able to secure a vehicle needed for field-based home care—an incredible testament to her determination and perseverance.
